INVESTIGATIONS are continuing after a man died following a hit-and-run accident.
Ian Brown was found dead on the Dailly to Girvan road in Ayrshire at about 3.05am on Saturday.
Police said Mr Brown, 48, was walking home to Dailly after a night with friends at Girvan bowling club when he was hit by a vehicle.
Sergeant Jackie Dunbar, based at the Central Road Policing in Govan, said: "Mr Brown was walking home to Dailly after a night out with friends at Girvan Bowling Club when it appears he was hit by a vehicle.
"He left a local kebab shop at around midnight to begin his walk home. I'm keen to find out exactly what happened over the next three hours. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to contact police."
Mr Brown's relatives have been told of his death and a report will be sent to the procurator-fiscal.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt Dunbar or PC Colin Brown on 0141 532 5400 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
