BUS operator First Glasgow has made changes to its network in the Greater Glasgow area.

From Sunday, January 8, new bus links will be introduced with others reduced or withdrawn as a result of customer feedback.

Some services are to be taken over by First Glasgow, with support from SPT, meaning passengers can use Firstday and Firstweek tickets on those routes.

Ronnie Park, Managing Director for First Glasgow, said: "We regularly review services across our bus network and as part of this process we have listened to feedback from our customers and looked very carefully at passenger numbers.

"As a result, some of our routes will see additional services from January while others are being revised and in some cases withdrawn. It is a challenging economic time, and we realise bus services are vital to our communities, so we will continue to provide bus services to all the areas currently served."

A new service 49 linking Govan, Ibrox, Silverburn and Spiersbridge will start in the New Year.

Service 38 will change with journeys every 20 minutes extending beyond Eastwood Toll to Spiersbridge.

An extended service 3 will provide a new direct link between Milton and Stobhill Hospital.

An improved service 267 will run on Monday to Saturday between Hamilton and Shotts, and services 59 and 84 will now be operated by First seven days a week.

Routes 21, 32, 54C and 113 are being withdrawn due to low usage.

Timetables outlining the changes to services are now available from the Customer Services Team, on the website and in Travel Centres.
