HOMELESS Allan Stewart slept in an alleyway behind a fast food restaurant after he was repeatedly turned away by the Hamish Allan Centre.

The 50-year-old who is estranged from his wife and two children said: "I went to them and ended up sleeping on the streets for three or four days. Then they got me a place for two days, and then I was back on the streets for about four days again.

"This was six weeks ago. They tell you there are no beds and to go away and come back tomorrow. They give you a bus token to get you out of there. It's for one journey and that's it.

"You go back the next day and it's the same thing again. There is nowhere for you. There's a bus token and that's it.

"People told me to go to a place in the town and get a lawyers letter but I wasn't interested in speaking to a lawyer. I said to myself at the time that eventually they'd have to get me somewhere.

"But it took me four days the first time and the second time it was the same.

"I ended up sleeping behind MacDonald's in Sauchiehall Lane. It's covered so I was out of the rain, but it was so cold."
