THOUSANDS of properties were left without water for hours today after a problem in the network.
Scottish Water were alerted to the issue at around 3.30pm on Tuesday.
The areas affected included Bearsden, Milngavie, Maryhill, Shettleston, the south side of the city and Rutherglen.
Homes and businesses were hit with loss of water, low water pressure and discoloured water.
Engineers dealt with the problem, however Scottish Water said affected customers might experience discoloured water until the system has recharged.
Water supplies were returning to normal at around 7pm.
