A HOSPICE fundraising appeal is almost half-way to achieving its £1million target.
St Vincent's Hospice in Renfrewshire launched the campaign to mark the charity's 25th anniversary.
The hospice has provided free specialist care to thousands of families since it was founded in 1988.
Broadcaster Shereen Nanjiani announced the £480,000 figure at Kelvingrove Museum.
She said: "St Vincent's Hospice offers patients and their families a real lifeline."
