The move will create the most complete picture of the toll of assaults, stabbings and bottlings in the city - where up to 70% of fights are believed to go unreported to the police.

But, more importantly, it will also help police target hotspots of violence and thereafter, put more resources into these areas in a bid to quell incidences of attacks.
