SCOTS are being urged to celebrate Burns Night with a difference – by walking barefoot across red hot embers at Glasgow Green.
It's part of a drive to raise thousands of pounds for specialists who offer a lifeline to victims of Huntington's disease, their families and carers.
Huntington's disease is a hereditary neurological condition which results in a gradual decline in muscle function.
Volunteers will walk across 20 foot bed of burning embers with temperatures of around 1236˚Fahrenheit,
A spokesman said: "There are no tricks or special effects, just you and the fire.
"We still need to raise £22,000 this year to make sure that our local HD Specialists can keep providing the support that families living with Huntington's disease need."
The event will be held tonight in gardens of the West Brewery bar and restaurant.
Registration begins at 6pm and an hour-long training session starts half an hour later.
The event begins at 7.30pm. Anyone with a burning desire to take part is asked to pay £20 and commit to raising at least another £100 in sponsorship.
