BOXING promoter Barry Hughes is to stand trial later this year for allegedly speeding in his Range Rover.
The 35-year-old, who recently became a dad for the fifth time, is charged with driving at 82mph on a60mph stretch of the M8.
The alleged offence is said to have taken place on June 18, last year, near junction 12 at Riddrie in Glasgow's East End.
Hughes, from Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire, was not present at Glasgow's Justice of the Peace Court yesterday when the case called and he plead not guilty by letter.
A trial was set for December this year.
Hughes is currently appealing a guilty verdict after being jailed for mortgage fraud.
