THE hunt is on for a lottery winner who has been sitting on a £3 million prize since December.
Lottery players in the Stirling area are being asked to dig out and re-check tickets bought for the draw eight days before Christmas.
The life-changing sum of £3,062,272 has yet to be claimed.
A National Lottery spokeswoman said: "There is a lucky winner walking around Stirling unaware that they are Scotland's newest millionaire and sitting on a fortune.
"We're eager to find the mystery ticket-holder as this amazing prize could make a huge difference to their life."
The winning ticket was bought in the Stirling Council area and matched five numbers and the bonus ball in the Lotto quadruple rollover draw on Wednesday December 17.
The numbers were 2, 19, 24, 33, 35 and 46. The bonus ball was 12.
The ticket-holder has until Monday June 15 to claim their prize.
