A dog walker has been taken to hospital with facial injuries after a brutal late night attack.

At around 10.40 last night a 44-year-old man was walking on Great Western Road with his dogs when he was set upon.

Another man, believed to have been wearing a high visibility jacket, attacked him with a weapon near the Byres Road junction giving him lacerations to his face.
