Two men, aged 33 and 30, were rushed to hospital following the daylight attack in Glenburn Road, as reported in later editions of last night's Evening Times.

The attacked happened at 4.50pm yesterday and involved two men who were driving a maroon Citroen Berlingo.

The attackers left the car at the roadside while they battered the men with weapons, before escaping in the same vehicle. Police believe the pair were "intended targets".

Residents in the area spoke of their shock after the attack.
