Alan Humphrey is accused of attacking 48-year-old Angela Humphrey at her home in Barmulloch, Glasgow, on February 21 this year.

It is alleged the 56-year-old punched, kicked and stamped on the mum of two.

The charge further claims Humphrey inflicted "blunt force injuries" to his wife and also seized and pressed her neck.

He also faces four earlier assault allegations against Mrs Humphrey.

One of the charges states that he threatened to kill her. He is due to stand trial in September.
