THE first skaters of 2014 took to Glasgow on Ice in George Square after it was announced half-price skating sessions will run until January 5.
Several hundred people pulled on their boots yesterday in a bid to clear away the cobwebs.
The city centre attraction is one of the top open air ice rinks in the UK, and more than 50,000 people have already enjoyed a skate under the lights in George Square this festive season. Glasgow On Ice is open from noon to 10pm until Sunday.
