INDEPENDENCE would hit trade between Scotland and England, Labour claim.
Shadow Scottish Secretary Margaret Curran has today unveiled a new report, The Border Effect, which states that exports from Scotland to the rest of the UK would drop by more than 80% over 30 years after independence.
Ms Curran said: "As part of the UK, Scotland gets the best of both worlds, with companies across Scotland able to sell their goods and services to the 60 million people in other parts of the UK without any barriers to trade. That means more jobs and opportunities for the 5 million people who live in Scotland."
