A student who was too drunk to make his way home from a night out had to be escorted home by police - but only after officers made their way into is Facebook chat group to get some help from his mates.
Lawrence Court, a human geography student at Cardiff University, has now shared screenshots of the exchange between police and the group of stunned pals as the officer in charge set about getting one of the guys home.
Lawrence was on a night in the Welsh capital when his friend Cameron had too much to drink. Unsurprisingly, Cameron was refused entry into a nightclub.

With the night clearly at an end for Cameron, he decided to stagger his way home - and that’s when the friendly officers of Cathays police station stepped in to intervene.
When it became clear Cameron couldn’t remember where he lived, an officer turned to the young man’s phone and delved into his mates’ Facebook group message - much to their disbelief and doubt.
But to prove it wasn’t a windup, the champ officer sent a selfie into the chat - and even went as far as to change Cameron’s name in it to ‘Such a VIP he had a police escort’.
One of Cameron’s mates encapsulated the entire night in one simple quote when he added into the chat: “F*** me dead, it’s legit…”
