A TOILET management firm is investigating after nine used syringes were found in a Glasgow public loo.
Healthmatic Ltd, which runs around 300 toilet blocks throughout the UK, said it would look into ways to stop members of the public finding used syringes in their facilities.
It came after grandfather Eddie McKenna found nine used syringes in public toilets next to Glasgow's Barras Market on Sunday.
Managing director Roger Berry said he had spoken to Mr McKenna, of Hamilton, over the phone.
Mr Berry said incidents like this were not unusual for cleaning staff but they would be looking at ways of stopping it.
He said: " We are aware of this and we are trying to stop this from happening.
"Nine is excessive, our cleaning staff will often come across four or five. It's a real problem."
Glasgow City Council owns the loo.
