THE company behind soft drink Irn-Bru has been unveiled as the latest sponsor of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
AG Barr, whose links with Glasgow date back more than 100 years, has been named an official supporter of the Games, as reported in later editions of yesterday's Evening Times.
It will support the event through a range of brands, including Irn-Bru and Strathmore spring water.
Water will be supplied to the athletes' village while other drinks will be made available across Glasgow 2014 venues.
David Grevemberg, Glasgow 2014 chief executive, said: "I am delighted to welcome such a well-known Scottish brand into the Glasgow 2014 family of supporters.
"The company has a strong track record of supporting sport from grassroots to elite."
