Irn-Bru is just the 'Fella' for TV advert dad

A NEW Irn-Bru advert sees viewers introduced to the 'New Fella' – a young girl's boyfriend who tests her father's fierce patriotism.

The advert, released tonight, is the first new ad of the year from the soft drink's flagship 'Irn-Bru Gets You Through' campaign.

It returns for a second year following the success of the first series of ads which generated a total of more than 2.5million YouTube hits.

Like other ads in the 'Gets You Through' series, 'New Fella' celebrates Scots' ability to handle tough situations with the determination and humour the nation's known for.

Things are tense as patriotic Scot Mr McGee meets his daughter's new boyfriend for the first time. An introduction to his dog Wembley nearly tips him over the edge.

But a taste of Scotland's other national drink gives him the strength to cope.

'New Fella' will be live on www.facebook.com/irnbru from 7pm and will hit TV screens across the nation from Monday.

Head of marketing, Adrian Troy, said: "Irn-Bru gives you the strength to cope with even the most nightmare scenario."
