SOME of the biggest names in wrestling will be hoping to floor their opponents when they arrive at Braehead.

TNA Impact Wrestling will bring one of the world's biggest sporting events to the arena next January.

And some of the high-flying stars of TNA will be competing in the organisation's famous steel cage match as part of the event.

Wrestling stars announced for the five bouts include Jeff Hardy, Kurt Angle, Bobby Roode, James Storm, AJ Styles, Mr Anderson, Rob Van Dam, Velvet Sky and Gail Kim.

And TNA bosses promise many more top names will be added in the coming months.

TNA president, Dixie Carter, said: "Our wonderful fans in the UK and Ireland have made us their number one rated wrestling show once again – and this tour is our way of saying thank you.

"This is the first time that the Lockdown steel cage has ever left US soil. Those matches will really be something special.

"Taping TNA Impact Wrestling at Wembley this January was a high point in the 10 year history of this company, so coming back in 2013 is something everyone is looking forward to."

TNA, which formed in America in 2001, is second only to the WWE in the list of biggest and most successful pro wrestling promotions.

The organisers put on more than 100 live shows a year and broadcasts pay-per-view events every month.

Former WWE hero Hulk Hogan is signed on as a star of TNA.

Another TNA star, Kurt Angle – who will be in Glasgow for the January 23 show – has recently made the switch to the big screen with a starring role in the 2011 hit film Warrior.

Tickets for the UK shows go on sale at 9am on Friday, May 25, from www.gigsandtours.com or www.ticketmaster.co.uk
