YOUNGSTERS from a city primary and nursery joined council leader Gordon Matheson to help dress his Christmas tree.
The pupils from St Mungo's Primary School and nursery class got in the festive spirit as they ensured the tree in his City Chambers office was given a festive sparkle.
Three of the children are in Primary 1 and two are in the nursery class at the school.
Mr Matheson said: "The children did a fantastic job and the tree looks great. Christmas is a wonderful time, particularly for children, so I was delighted they were able to come to the City Chambers to help me.
"They were really excited about Christmas and it was fantastic to see the delight on their faces when the tree lit up.
"Our Glasgow Loves Christmas campaign is already lighting up the city, and what better way to celebrate than with some children from one of our primary schools."
Mr Matheson first involved youngsters from the city's schools when he took over as leader of the Council.
As a special thanks, he presented them with goodie bags
Meanwhile, kind hearted city residents are being urged to donate food and toys to hard up families this Christmas.
For the second year running, Lord Provost Sadie Docherty has launched an appeal for goods to help those who need it most.
She said: "Anything anyone can donate, big or small, is hugely appreciated. Let's spread a little cheer for those struggling this festive season.
"I know the people of Glasgow have big hearts and I hope they can help others less fortunate during this special time of goodwill."
Food will be donated to registered food banks and toys given to children who may otherwise not receive a gift at Christmas.
