BROADCASTER and journalist Kaye Adams was joined by a group of youngsters to support a cancer charity.

She was surrounded by pupils from Jordanhil School as she switched on the Christmas tree lights at the Calman Centre in Glasgow to launch Cancer Support Scotland's 'Message in a Bauble' fund-raising appeal.

Kaye, a strong supporter of the charity, said: "For many people affected by cancer, Christmas is not a time of festive cheer.

"They often find themselves concerned for loved ones and fearful of the future.

"This is where Cancer Support Scotland can help by offering complementary and talking therapies providing support to people anxious or stressed due to a cancer diagnosis.

"The much-needed funds raised at events like this are essential for the continued success of the charity."

All the services offered by Cancer Support Scotland are free and demand for them has risen by nearly 30% this year as more people are diagnosed earlier and more are surviving and living longer."

Cancer Support Scotland provides a wide range of free services including aromatherapy, reiki, Indian head massage, reflexology, talking therapy, deep tissue massage and stress management.

Other services include chiropody and how to cope with hair loss
