Youngsters jumped through hoops to help out a ward at Yorkhill Sick Kids’ Hospital.

Twenty six youngsters from Firtrees Nursery, on the campus of Motherwell College, decided to raise cash for the Schiehallion Ward.

They joined forces to design and build an indoor obstacle course.

They then got sponsors to support them round the course as they managed to raise £172.

Jean Sneddon, a senior nursery nurse at Firtrees Nursery, said: “They really enjoyed working together to come up with a plan to raise money.

“They know the money they raised will help others not so fortunate.”

Shona Cardle, chief executive of Yorkhill Children’s Foundation, added: “We are delighted to receive this donation and it’s fantastic they are learning about Yorkhill Children’s Foundation and Schiehallion Ward.”
