TWO men found guilty of abducting, torturing and killing financial adviser Lynda Spence have claimed they were the victims of a miscarriage of justice.
Colin Coats and Philip Wade, both 43, were jailed for life for the murder of 27-year-old Lynda from Glasgow.
At a hearing of the Appeal Court in Glasgow, QCs for the pair argued that their trial was flawed on two counts and asked for their convictions and sentences to be quashed.
Defence QCs argued that the sentences were excessive and compared the tariffs handed out to Coats and Wade with that given to Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Al-Megrahi.
Judges will give their decision in due course.
