That was the verdict of East Dunbartonshire Council leader Rhondda Geekie, who praised the thousands of people who turned up to enjoy the events, which finished with the usual Gala Sunday.
Ms Geekie said: "This year's Canal Festival has been fantastic, with more visitors than ever before coming to enjoy the exciting activities.
"We could not have asked for better weather and it was quite something to see so many people in the town enjoying the festivities.
"Thanks go to everyone involved in organising this week's programme and to all the visitors who contributed to the wonderful atmosphere.
"This festival has been the best yet."
The crowds enjoyed a wide range of attractions, including funfairs, concert and jazz bands, Kirkintilloch Male Voice Choir, the Kennedy Cupcake Dancers, pictured left, and classic cars, as well as barge trips on the canal and canoeing at the marina.
And fun events saw a unicyclist, stilt-walkers, a clown, face-painters and puppeteers entertain the crowds.
