A NEW laboratory, which aims to combat infections picked up in hospital, has opened.
The facility is based at the University of the West of Scotland's Paisley Campus.
One in 12 patients who are admitted to hospital suffer from some form of healthcare associated infection.
The new laboratory will allow experts to work together to control the spread of infections such as the MRSA superbug and norovirus.
