GAMES fans can get their hands on cut-price Glasgow 2014 merchandise after prices were lowered to shift the final products.

But they will have to be quick to bag a bargain because the last of the stock is "flying off the shelves".

Organisers say the Games superstore in the city's George Square has been a massive success and there is only limited stock left.

They have started to reduce prices in the remaining items now the event has ended.

Among the deals are £5 discounts on selected T-shirts.

The store, which will shut for the last time next Wednesday attracted hordes of people throughout the Games.

The most popular item of merchandise has been the cuddly Clyde mascot, the sales of which outstripped all other items.

A total of 46,000 Clydes, 22,000 women's T-shirts, 34,000 men's T-shirts and 2000 Games-branded beach towels have been sold since July 1.

A Glasgow 2014 spokeswoman said the superstore had been a "phenomenal success and with final stocks still flying off the shelves, it will close next Wednesday".

She added: "There are already some discounts in place on remaining stock. Items will also still be available to purchase online for a limited period once the superstore has closed."
