A TODDLER was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment after swallowing the heroin-substitute drug Methadone.
Lorna McVey, 36, of Dalskeith Avenue, Ferguslie Park, Paisley, admitted leaving the 18-month-old child unsupervised with access to bottles of the drug.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard how it was a mystery how the little girl gained access to the bottles, as they should have come with a locked child-safety cap.
McVey, a registered drug addict, was responsible for the care of the 18-month-old and another child aged almost three.
She went to the local pharmacy to collect her Methadone prescription, leaving them in the charge of another female.
The babysitter went to the toilet and when she came back the childen were sitting in a pool of Methadone.
McVey was given a two-year community payback order requiring her to accept supervision and co-operate fully.
