A new 'sleeper' bus service from Glasgow to London will offer tickets from as little as £15.

Stagecoach is launching a network of overnight services linking Scotland with the UK's capital city.

The firm has invested £5million in a fleet of specially-designed vehicles with leather seats that convert into beds.

The state-of-the-art double-deck coaches also have tables, power sockets and free Wi-Fi with 53 seats that convert into 42 beds.

Customers will have complimentary refreshments during their trips as well as a sleeper kit. And passengers will be given a choice of a blanket or a onesie to sleep in during their journey.

More than 1700 lie-flat beds will be available every week between Scotland and London.

The services will oper- ate seven days from Dun- dee, Glasgow, Aviemore, Dunfermline Cumbernauld, Edinburgh and other Scottish cities.

Prices on the new services will range from £15 to £60 with journey times comparable to sleeper train services.

Customers will be able to make the trip from both Edinburgh and Glasgow to London in less than eight hours.

The sleepercoach network launch follows a pilot between Glasgow and London using vehicles fitted with bunks.

Stagecoach Group Chief Executive Sir Brian Souter, said: "It used to be just pop stars that had beds on their buses - now everyone can benefit from a comfortable, great value overnight journey.

"You can go to sleep in one city and wake up in another ready to start the day without having to pay for an expensive hotel room."
