Lord Provost dons school uniform again

IT'S not every day you see Glasgow's First Citizen in her school uniform, but Lord Provost Sadie Docherty dressed the part when she made a special visit.

She was at St Margaret Mary's Secondary, Castlemilk, to help celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Mrs Docherty was met by head girl Katelyn Roberts and depute head boy James Forrester, but she had little time for playground gossip before having to sit through 40 minutes of first year geography.

Mrs Docherty joined in second year English and third year biology before meeting fellow pupils in the Fuel Zone for a 1960s themed lunch.

Her final lesson of the day was fourth year art.

Mrs Docherty, a pupil at the school from 1968-73, said: "I have had an incredible day. I answered some easy questions and avoided detention and was pleased I didn't get any homework."
