A CHARITY working to combat food poverty in Glasgow has been awarded a £15,000 funding boost.
Royal Mail made the donation to FareShare, which supplies food to 16 local charities from its depot in the city.
The cash will enable them to transport 285 tons of food.
Those helped by FareShare include vulnerable groups - such as the homeless, the elderly, and children.
Lindsay Boswell, FareShare CEO said: "Thanks to Royal Mail's generous donation, we will be able to transport surplus food that would otherwise go to waste to hundreds of local charities across the city."
