A 77-YEAR-OLD man is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Clydebank.
The man was crossing Kilbowie Road near to its junction with Drumry Road at 7.45pm on Saturday when he was struck by a Renault Clio. The car was driven by a 62-year-old woman.
He was taken by ambulance to the Western Infirmary in Glasgow where he is being treated for head injuries.
Hospital staff describe his condition as serious.
Constable Allan Moffat from the Road Policing Unit at Dumbarton Police Office said: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.
"I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information to contact Police Scotland on 101."
