A 49-year-old man was arrested for an alleged alcohol offence inside the ground at the Annan Athletic v Rangers match.
Other offences were detected at the weekend fixture, including three separate counts of sectarian singing and two cases of letting off a smoke flare, police said.
Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary said more people would be reported for other offences, although no arrests were made in Annan.
The Third Division fixture at Galabank Stadium was a sell-out, with 2500 tickets issued – a much larger attendance than the club is used to.
Police said it was the first test for officers and the club to manage a big game at the ground.
As well as about 20 officers at the ground, more police and road units were on duty to patrol the town and to deal with extra traffic.
