Police discovered a Paisley man growing cannabis in a tent he had pitched in a room.
Officers who approached the tent immediately felt the air becoming warmer due to the intense heat being generated inside.
When they unzipped the canvas, they found it contained 10 cannabis plants.
Christopher Jensen, 30, of Love Street, admitted being involved in the production of the cannabis plants on May 22, contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Paisley Sheriff Court heard the 10 plants recovered had a potential value of £2700.
Sentencing was deferred until November 15.
