A DRIVER was cut free from his vehicle after crashing in Cumbuslang.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews out to the incident on Greenlees Road shortly after 5pm on Tuesday.
Although the man was uninjured, paramedics called on firefighters to cut him from the car as a precaution.
After crews from Clydesmill Community Fire Station finished working on the car, the man was checked over and taken to Hairmyres Hospital.
Incident commander, Watch Manager Danny McLaughlin, said: "The casualty didn't appear to have sustained physical injuries but the information he gave to paramedics indicated a possible underlying health condition and it was decided he needed to be lifted clear.
"We conducted a full roof removal and he was taken to Hairmyres Hospital for a precautionary check-up.
"Ambulance and police officers were both in attendance throughout and our crews worked closely with them to effect the rescue."
