Man for court after death of woman, 46

A MAN has been arrested following the death of a woman in Ayrshire.

The 40-year-old is detained in police custody in connection with the death of 46-year-old Elaine Duncan.

She died following a disturbance in a flat in Loudon Road, Newmilns, on Friday night.

Police were called to the flat at around 11.10pm when the body was discovered.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland: "A 40-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the death of 46-year-old Elaine Duncan who died following a disturbance within a flat in Loudon Road, Newmilns. Relatives are aware."

The man will appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court tomorrow.
