A man has been seriously injured in a city shooting.
The 28-year-old was found with gunshot wounds in Milton in north Glasgow yesterday.
Police are linking a burnt-out car found nearby to the "outrageous" attack.
They are trying to establish whether the injured man, found in Haywood Street at about 7pm, was the intended victim.
He is being treated in the Western Infirmary, where doctors have described his condition as "serious but stable".
Detective Inspector Jim Bradley is appealing for witnesses.
He said: "Haywood Street is residential, with lots of homes in the area.
"It was still quite early in the evening and I am sure that there would have been people about who saw or heard the incident take place.
"It is imperative that we catch those responsible for this attack. To brazenly discharge a firearm in a residential area is outrageous."
Police are also appealing for information on a Mazda car found torched in Skirsa Square.
