Z Glasgow is in the former Old Printworks in North Frederick Street.

As previously reported in the Evening Times, Z Hotels is believed to have spent about £1million buying the property, which had been a pub until last orders were called four years ago.

The hotel will have 104 rooms and guests will have to hang their clothes on hooks fixed to room walls and store their luggage under their beds.

However, the firm says the hotel offers guests "urban luxury", with rooms featuring handcrafted beds and en-suite wetrooms. It will also feature a Z Cafe offering food

The firm says it is on schedule to open "at the end of May".

Z Glasgow will be the company's first Scottish hotel. It has hotels in London and Liverpool.

Chief executive Bev King said Glasgow was a fantastic city and the company was "very excited to be in the centre of the action".
