DRUG dealers who risk the lives of young people in Glasgow have been told there's nowhere to hide.

The hard-hitting claim comes days after the death of 17-year-old Regane MacColl.

She died early on Sunday after becoming ill in The Arches nightclub in Glasgow.

Police believe the tragedy could be linked to red "Mortal Kombat" tablets.

Senior police officers have warned that criminals producing and selling drugs are risking lives.

Police, partner agencies and nightclub representatives were today meeting to discuss tackling the issue.

As part of the drive, officers will target drug dealers, with police increasing their presence in and around nightclubs.

Chief Inspector Alan Porte hopes extra high-visibility patrols will send out a strong message to those involved drug dealing.

He added: "There are people out there more concerned with making a profit from selling illicit drugs than your health and welfare.

"Please don't let them take risks with your life.

"People have no idea what a tablet contains, or how it has been handled, when it is bought from an illicit source.

"No one can be sure what is in these pills."

It comes after arrests linked to "Mortal Kombat" tablets.

Two men are expected to appear in court today in connection with drugs offences.

A 22-year-old man was arrested after tablets, believed to be ecstasy, were seized from a property in Larkhall. He is due at Airdrie Sheriff Court.

Another man, also 22, from Clydebank, is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court.

Police say there is nothing to suggest these arrests are linked to Regane's death.
