And she was delighted when the sun came out in Glasgow to help her fundraising efforts.
The model and TV presenter was joined by friend Vikki Flynn to raise money for International Pre-Autistic Network (IPAN), a charity close to both of their hearts.
Melanie and Vikki both have sons diagnosed as being on the Autistic spectrum.
To raise cash for IPAN they are now travelling the length of the UK selling ice cream.
Melanie said: "We want to raise as much money as possible so that IPAN can continue to offer life changing early intervention intensive therapy to as many families as possible.
"Autism is a cause close to both our hearts, and with the right support and funding in place to support early intervention, the lives of these children can be changed dramatically.
"We are delighted to make a stop at Xscape Braehead and can't believe the sun came out for our ice cream van."
Beginning their journey at John O'Groats, the ladies will now stop off in Blackpool, Manchester, Castleford, Sheffield, Milton Keynes, Weston- super-Mare and Newquay before reaching Land's End.
