Mini Moves shine but miss top spot

THEY may not have made it through to one of the last three slots but Mini Moves danced their hearts out at Sky TV's Got To Dance final last night.

The Glasgow-based dance troupe had hoped to make it third time lucky for choreographer Robert Hamilton, whose acts had made it to the final three on two previous occasions.

But after wowing the audience with a high-octane performance and their Beyoncé-inspired hairstyles, they lost out in the viewers' vote.

Although they were praised by all three judges – former Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt, Ashley Banjo and JLS' Aston Merrygold – none of them placed the girls in their own top three.

However, Ashley said the young dancers, "had a great deal of talent," and Kimberley said, "they have so much energy."

But after all the viewers votes were counted the three finalists were dance troupe Ruff Diamond, soloist Lukas McFarlane and dancers Gymtasia Evolutions.

And after a further viewers' vote Lukas was named the winner of the £250,000 prize and named Got To Dance 2013 champion.

As he celebrated, Mini Moves – Holly McPherson, 10, from Clydebank; Cara Paton of Old Kilpatrick, Jay Carr from Renfrew, Jo Dempsey of Stepps, and Skye Seager from Partick, all 11, joined the other contestants on the stage.
