AN early celebration took place when a giant sized card was hand delivered to a special mum.

As a reminder that this Sunday is Mother's Day, Kittochside Candy received the special delivery.

Ritchie Young, from the National Museum of Rural Life at Kittochside in East Kilbride made the presentation to one of the attraction's Ayrshire cows on behalf of her newborn calf, Kittochside Hilltown.

The presentation marks the start of the Museum's new Spring visitor season and its Big Events programme, which is being supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery.

The "living" museum opened in 2001.

The £9m project is made up of a museum and visitor centre, the Georgian farm buildings of Wester Kittochside, the species-rich fields around it and a large events area.
