Housing champion and Glasgow Labour MSP Patricia Ferguson believes early action would halt the decline of communal areas in flats and tenements and relieve misery for owners.

Her call comes after the Evening Times highlighted the plight of Cessnock couple Christine and Alex McConnell who fear their tenement home will be condemned unless urgent work is carried out.
