THE trial of a man accused of murdering his 87-year-old grandmother was adjourned until today because his QC was unavailable.

Garry Kane, 40, denies killing Kathleen Milward at her home in Brodie Place, Stonehouse, Lanarkshire, on January 3.

Judge Lord Matthews told the High Court in Dumbarton: "We are not going to be able to start. Senior counsel is unavailable through no fault of his own."
