MINISTERS have been urged to do more to back vulnerable youngsters leaving the care system.
The issue was raised in Holyrood as MSPs debated the Scottish Government's aim of making Scotland the best place in the world for children to grow up. Children's charity Aberlour called for action, with Liberal Democrat Liam McArthur echoing their plea.
While the average age for leaving the family home is 24, children often leave care aged 16.
