WORK on a new park and ride facility in Wishaw is on track to end in October.
Council chiefs in North Lanarkshire and transport chiefs at SPT are spending almost £200,000 on the development at Belhaven Road to provide 40 car parking spaces along with lighting and CCTV cameras.
The local authority's roads and transportation head Councillor Graham MacKay said: "This new park and ride facility is part of the council's improvement plans for Wishaw, improving access to public transport and the town centre.
"It is designed to encourage commuters to use the train and will free up other town centre car parks for shoppers and visitors."
