AN award-winning West End beauty salon launched a new spa and training academy in the heart of Glasgow city centre.
Revival Retreat, based in Byres Road, is one of the only beauty salons in Scotland that trains all therapists to postgraduate level.
And now it is to open a Renfield Street branch targeting office workers looking for express lunchtime treatments.
The salon is creating nine jobs, and had 400 applicants for one reception post.
Manager Lynne Hetherington said: "The Byres Road salon has gone from strength to strength but the aspiration has always been to open a salon in the city centre.
"The beauty industry is as vibrant as it was in 2003 when we opened up in Byres Road.
"However, over the years many treatments have become less of a luxury item and more about necessity and affordability.
"We are particularly excited about the beauty academy. We want to pass on what we know to new therapists coming into the beauty industry."
The new Revival Retreat salon boasts three relaxation rooms for facial and massage treatments, two dedicated waxing rooms, four nail bars, brow and lash bars and make-up stations.
