A FAMILY left bereft after two gnomes were 'kidnapped' is to get some new front step friends...
Lee Bandoni, girlfriend Amanda Morris and their six-month-old baby Mia launched an appeal for Henry and Samuel's return after they disappeared from their Cardonald home overnight.
Now supermarket giant Asda has joined the hunt, with a special online appeal complete with mocked-up 'Missing' posters. The chain has also pledged to replace the 3 feet giant gnomes, part of their gnome 'family' range.
Lee, 33, contacted The Evening Times after he discovered the gnomes had been swiped on Wednesday night.
He said Mia 'loved' the doorstep duo, which the family bought last week.
Lee and Amanda, 26, were delighted to hear Asda had offered to replace the gnomes.
They had hoped the pair were taken as a prank and would be replaced but there was no news of the missing pair last night.
Lee, a technology advisor, said: "It's turned into gnomegate! We've had neighbours knocking on the door and people saying how sorry they are to hear what's happened.
"The new gnomes will be the safest in Glasgow! We'll have to think about bolting them down or installing GPS.
"I've asked one of the guys at work if he can build a GPs system with a drone that could track it. We can't risk any more being taken."
A spokeswoman for Asda said they had launched a special appeal on Facebook which went out in the Glasgow area yesterday afternoon. (FRI)
The post features a photograph of two £25 'Gnorman' gnomes, with the description "Missing. Henry and Samuel. 3ft tall, blue eyes, rosy cheeks. Wearing blue coats and large pointy red hats. Last seen on the owners doorstep."
She added: "We're upset to hear that Henry & Samuel are missing. We're appealing for anyone with information of their whereabouts to come forward. We want them 'gnome' safe and sound."
She said they would also contact the family to send them new gnomes when the collection arrives in store.
