Cops check phone lead in search

DETECTIVES hunting a missing woman have quizzed residents in an area where her mobile phone was found.

Businesswoman Lynda Spence, 27, of Glasgow, disappeared two months ago.

Officers yesterday carried out the operation in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire, where the phone was found in a wheelie bin, in a bid to discover who discarded it.

Ms Spence has debts amounting to a six-figure sum and has had business dealings with people known to police, who are checking her financial history in an attempt to shed light on her disappearance.

"Ms Spence, also known as Lynda Zefaj, Lynda Palmer or Lynda Reilly, from Castlebank Street, Partick, was last seen by her parents on April 13 when she visited them at their home, also in Partick.
