A transplant patient has told how she considered going abroad to buy a kidney after waiting years for a transplant on the NHS.
Jelina Berlow-Rahman, a Glasgow solicitor, has backed calls from a leading doctor for the public to be offered payments of £28,000 for kidney donation.
Dr Sue Rabbitt Rolf, of Dundee University, suggested the health service should offer financial rewards as a means of speeding up the rate of transplants and reducing the cost of treatments and dialysis to the NHS.
