'No one to be abandoned' in care crisis

Plans are being put in place to ensure hundreds of elderly Glasgow people are not abandoned should the country's biggest care home firm go out of business.

The UK-wide Southern Cross, which has eight homes in the city looking after more than 400 people, has hit serious financial problems leaving it unable to pay its rent on properties and fears it could go into administration.
